Nearly half of the world's daily desalinated water...
I recently met with a water desalination professor from the University of Tokyo, who is currently developing a new way to desalinate water, without using electricity, but only the natural power of the sun. The technology is still under development but should be ready by 2024 or 2025. Though production volumes will only be liken to a 2L bottle of water, the ability to produce potable water through natural means was quite noteworthy, so I thought I would mention it a post.
